Miffy is a Slut Bunny!!

Really Miffy?????  What the heck?  So, this evening we went to Coco's and had an awesome dinner with Denise and the boys.  We decide that after dinner that we would go to the 100¥ shop aka Daiso shop.  We laugh at all of the amazing and wonderful things that they have in the store.  Then Denise points out the cups and plates have Melamine warning on them or something about Melamine,  isn't this the crap that we are suppose to be staying away from?     So then we head down the toy aisle
and we see the Hello Kitty items that
they have in this particular Daiso shop
then Brian points out this little bag for
a small little girl and it shows this little
girl bunny on roller skates and there is
a boy bunny standing behind her and it
just does not look right.  It really
makes Miffy look like she is a Slut
Bunny. I mean  tell me what you think of
this picture?

Andie loves to beat the drum

Yes......I love to beat the drum. Our first Christmas here in Okinawa, Brian and I spent the day at the Jusco playing video games. In all of the video arcades here in Okinawa and I am guessing on mainland Japan have the game Taiko no Tatsujin It is a game that has 2 drums and you are hitting the drum for each little drum that comes across the screen. This game is so cool and I enjoy playing it. The other day Brian and I were at the Yamada store and we were looking at all of the wii games that they have. I was totally shocked to see that they had a wii version of Taiko no Tatsujin. I picked it up and was about to go to the counter with it and I remembered that Japanese wii games are not supported on the American wii. So, there it went back to the shelf. I am now on a mission to find someone to mod my wii to support Region 2 games. So, that I do not have to go out and buy a Japanese wii, just for this game. I have been tempted to do this if I can not find someone to mod it for me.

Oh what a night!

I was so tired last night, there was no way that I would be able to write this. So last night we went to Toneau Bistro and had a wonderful dinner. We have had dinner there a couple of times before, but our friends Aimee and Paul had never been. So, we get in and get our table. They bring us our appetizers. The usual appetizer is a piece of fried fish, a plum and a hot pickle, tempura veggies or the wonderful dish of squid that we had last night. Well when they brought the appetizers out they hand Paul, Denise, Brian and myself a small plate with the squid on it. We look at each other and wonder why they didn't bring another one for Aimee. Well...the server comes back with 5 trays. He hands one to each of the 3 boys, one to Mackenzie and one to Aimee..yep......They thought that Aimee was child! It was so funny!!

So, the meal continues...we enjoy our wonderful food and make fun of the drinks that they have given us, because the ice in the glasses are 2 huge balls. I wanted to see if I could fit one into my mouth. Anywho....the meal continued and all of a sudden the waiter comes out with 2 plates that had these cake like items on it. He said it was a present.... I have to say that I was thinking at first what the heck are they bringing us bread with chocolate syrup? But once you cut into it, that thing was so warm and so good.

I have to say that it is always so wonderful to go out to dinner and have a great time with such great company.

Photography here a go go

For a while, I had been going back and forth with should Brian and I do a photography shoot with a photographer here in Okinawa. I kept putting it off, and I don't know why. So, we finally did it. There are so many people here in Okinawa that do photography. The person that I wanted to use was the HM1 that worked with Brian. I knew that he did awesome work, because the command would have him doing all of the pictures for command events. Well.....he PCS'ed in December so using him was out of the question. I turned to Japan Update to see if I could find a photographer, all of the photographers that I saw on there did awesome work, but they were a little pricey. Then I turned to the new site here in Okinawa, which was Okinawa Yard Sales and I found a photographer named Deena with Makana Photography and I have to say that I was impressed with the work that was shown on her site and I am extremely pleased with the pictures that she did for us. I love, Love, LOVE the pictures. She did an awesome job.

Where are you Sweet Fishcakes??

Ok......So here in Okinawa they have all kinds of wonderful treats that are just so awesome! I have grown really fond of a treat that I call "Sweet Fishcakes" I don't know what the Japanese name for them are. But these things are freaking fantastic! Now, I am about to take this back a year.

Last year Brian and I were shopping around in San-A ( A small mall) and while just looking around we came across this little kiosk where there was a guy making the cake and like 3 ladies selling them by the bag full. So, we step up and the lady offers a free sample. Brian starts raving how awesome the custard one is, so I say we want a bag of 18. She loads them in, we pay and leave. Get in the car and what the HECK we have that sweet Bean flavor and I have to say it is so not GOOD. I chalk it up to the language barrier and just decide that we will go back on the next weekend to get more. We go back on the next weekend and they are THERE! Sweet!! We step up and the lady is speaking to us in Engrish....yep I said Engrish. I am thinking to myself, "where was this on last week when you sold me those not so good fishcakes" I order 18 custard filled and 18 Chocolate. Whenever I wanted fishcakes I would go to San-A I left for the states and came back and could not find them. I went without fishcakes up until Sept. They were back in Sept when I went to San-A of course Brian and I picked up 2 bags full. We go on Vacation to Phoenix and come back and BOOM they are gone and I have not been able to find them since then. I have been searching all of the San-A's, all of the Jusco's and other various Okinawan stores and No luck. I am going to try my luck on tomorrow to see if I can find my wonderful Sweet Fishcakes!!!

Cocok!!!!

Ok....I don't know why I haven't created a blog about the most AWESOME pedicure's here in Okinawa!! I have been going to this place for the past almost 3 years of being here. First, it is always so hard to schedule an appointment here, because ALL of the American's go to this place. So, we know not to go there on payday or anytime right after payday. I can not think of a place in the states to where you can get a pedi with the toe art and a massage for 40 dollars. The length of the pedicure is usually 2 hours and they give you the best Oolong tea and there is always some other treat to go along with the tea. Along with the toe art, I forgot to mention that all of the art done on the toes are done free hand. These chicks do amazing toe art.

When you are seated they have these huge chairs that you can just relax in and they hand you a folder with all of the designs that you can pick from. I will be so spoiled when I get back to the states. I don't think I will have a pedicure that will be able to top the Cocok's ladies.

It all starts from here

Ok.. I am saying that it is all going to start from this day and move forward.

Today was the day that Brian put in writing that he wants to be stationed in Jacksonville. He was able to list a total of 5 places that he would want to go, but he only placed 4 on his list. The person that Brian spoke with today told him that it will now be about 3 weeks before we find out for sure the place that we are going to go. My fingers are still crossed with Jacksonviile and I have a great feeling that we will be going home.

We should be out of Okinawa sometime in May.

I can't wait!

And the list shows........What

Well it has been a LONG day..... I waited for Brian to send me an email to let me know of what the choices were for our next duty station. He comes home at like 5:15 and I am like so........"what's the news on where we are going?" He says that he has been really busy and didn't get a chance to look at the list. So, I have a little crying fit, because you all just don't know how bad I want off of this island. This was the last list that Brian will be able to have a choice in where he would go. I have to say that this list was like the JACKPOT list of all list.

Brian and I have been planning on making Texas our home after he retires from the Navy.

Well Hawaii was not on the list, so I am going to be upsetting my Grandfather just a little, but I know that he will be glad to have us a little closer to home.

Ok...on to the list.

First on the list was wonderful

ECRC out of San Diego
JACKSONVILLE, FL
Sasebo Japan - Which we can not take because there are no Continuous Overseas Tours
3 spots for Okinawa Japan
Corpus Christi, Texas
Norfolk Virginia
Singapore
Atsugi Japan
Twenty-Nine Palms California
San Diego, California
Cherry Point, North Carolina
Washington, DC
and Bethesda, Maryland

So, we are going to be making JACKSONVILLE our first pick, Corpus 2nd and ECRC our 3rd Choice.

I am totally excited, I am going to start looking at houses in the area!!! WHOOT WHOOT!!!!!!

Still waiting......

Ok....so it is 10:06 am and I am waiting for the call from Brian to tell me where our next duty station will be. I am nervous and excited at the same time. We really want to get Hawaii, but I have this feeling since I have not heard from him that we are not going to Hawaii. We always have our little Ace in the hole. Which is ECRC, so we will see.

Later!

I want....this and that!

Ok......so I get this phone call today from a 904 area code, but it says that it is an international call. I do not answer, because I do not know who this is calling me. Turns out it was my wonderful friend Michelle calling to tell me that she is using her PSP to call me using SKYPE. I was like what the heck. I really want a PSP and the other day when Brian bought me my Nintendo DS, he said that we should get a PSP instead of the DS and I was like heck no. So, now I am really wanting a PSP, but then I started thinking that for the price of the PSP, I could get the Sony Mylo. Oh, I am having a dilema about this.....OH the choices. I just think that whatever we get it would be a good thing to get for Brian especially if he is going to take the orders for ECRC.

So Many loves......

There are so many things that I love!!! It's kind of like the Oprah's favorite things kind of kick. But, they are things that only someone like me would LOVE! This love that I am talking about today is a very special love. Since we are in Japan and living out in town and away from Base housing. Our apartment is one of my loves, but there is something even more special about our home that I love. Now, that we have been having some chilly weather. We have plugged in our HEATED toilet seat and I have to say that it has been so AWESOME!! I wake up in the middle of the night just to go sit on the heated toilet seat. But, the other LOVE that I have with this magical toilet is the wonderful bidet that goes along with the heated seat. This bidet is awesome it has warm and cold settings and I so love this thing. I will so miss my Japanese Mansion apartment!
